The San Juan Music Educators Association is a non-profit organization which provides and promotes educational resources for music educators and extends music education learning opportunities for their students. SJMEA is an association run by music educators who work to insure their region's music students have quality performance opportunities. The majority of this work is done on a volunteer basis.
In all of our events, since the majority of our expenses are due on the day of the events, we require payment by check IN ADVANCE of the event date. Payment from school districts, ASB, booster clubs and PTA are preferred. SJMEA does not accept payment directly from families. Please set up payment through your music director. Cash and Purchase Orders cannot be accepted. Directors with past-due balances may not register for future events until past expenses are paid in full.
For each event, teachers receive a personalized invoice with unique invoice number and amount due, as part of the registration process. It is the teacher's responsibility to submit their invoice and request payment be made by the deadline to their accounts payable department, ASB office, etc. Please do not send purchase orders to SJMEA, but ensure that payment is made by the event.
When making payments, please understand that we are taking payments for multiple events. Frequently, districts send one large check for multiple events, groups, directors, and/or schools. The only way to ensure accurate coverage of event expenses, is to reference all invoice numbers a check is intended to cover and to include copies of those invoices with the check. For our solo/ensemble events, it is also helpful to note which teacher your check is paying for.
