The SJMEA Senior Large Group Festival is a five day festival that takes place every year during Western's spring break. Two days are devoted to band, two days devoted to choir and one day is devoted to orchestra. This schedule rotates on a yearly basis in order to alternate which ensemble type has their event on Friday, which often is the last school day before spring break.
Costs: $150 per Band/Orchestra. $175 per Choir
Performance Time slots: Orchestra and Band - 25 minutes, which includes a 25 minutes off-stage Clinic.
Choir - 15 minutes, which includes a 12 minute off-stage Clinic and a Sight-Reading Session.
Sight Reading: Choir - Sight-Reading is a required component of the overall festival process, and included in the overall rating.

Ratings: I+, I, I- (Superior); II+, II, II- (Excellent); III+, III, III- (Good); IV+, IV, IV- (Fair)

Logistics
Check-In: Table in the front lobby of the music building (PAC)
Storage: Orchestra and Band, Lower Level 2 will be used for storage of instruments and belongings, Choir, There is limited space for belongings in PAC Foyer.
Warm Up: Orchestra and Band - Room 16 (Choir Room - Lower Level 2), Choir - Foyer of PAC Main Stage.
Sight Reading: Choir - Room 24 (Band Room - Lower Level 2)
Food: The WWU Viking Union Market and Cafe are open on a limited basis and is usually very busy. It is suggested that students bring a sack lunch to the festival.
Directions: From Interstate 5, take Exit #252 (Samish Way and WWU). Turn west onto Samish Way and follow the signs for Bill McDonald Parkway and the University Campus. Map it!
Parking: Visitors need to get a parking pass from WWU parking services. Call 360.650.2945 or stop at the Campus Services Building near the corner of Bill McDonald Parkway and 21st Street. (People should not park in a reserved space, even during WWU’s spring break.) Click here for a WWU Parking Map
Recording: Each ensemble participating in the Senior Large Group Festival will be recorded and provided a CD and will be mailed along with score sheets.

Choir - Choir risers, director's stand and piano are provided.
